1. Arizona State Fair  

Established in 1905, the Arizona State Fair is one of the most popular fall events local to Arizona. Every year, this ever-growing affair attracts thousands of families across the entire state. Families can enjoy thrilling carnival rides and games, delicious food from local vendors, live entertainment, and more.

The 2022 Arizona State Fair begins September 23rd and runs through October 30th, and it’s open Thursdays through Sundays – perfect for weekend activities.  

 

2. Local First Arizona Fall Festival  

Phoenix residents will be thrilled to learn that the Local First Arizona Fall Festival will be making its return this fall. It’s a free, family-friendly, and pet-friendly event with something for everyone. Festival activities include samples from some of the state’s top restaurants, games in the Sports Zone, and arts and crafts at the official Kid Zone.

 

3. Schnepf Farms Pumpkin and Chili Party  

Located in Queen Creek, the annual Schnepf Farms Pumpkin and Chili Party is a party for kids and adults of all ages. The fall event features seasonal favorites, such as a pumpkin patch, corn maze, and petting zoo. Other family-friendly activities include train rides, roller coaster rides, fireworks, and plenty of food. And, of course, no Pumpkin and Chili Party is complete without plenty of chili.

 

4. Vertuccio Farms Fall Festival  

Vertuccio Farms is celebrating the harvest season with its annual “Cooler Days in the Corn Maze” Fall Festival. The 25-acre farm’s month-long festival features a pumpkin patch, mini-golf, a spider-web climb, pumpkin bowling, tube slides, a petting zoo, and a five-acre corn maze.

 

5. MacDonald’s Ranch Pumpkin Patch  

From Saturday, October 1st to Sunday, October 30th, families can visit MacDonald’s Ranch pumpkin patch and participate in a variety of activities. In addition to hunting for the perfect carving or pie pumpkins for your fall-themed treats, your admission includes a hay bale maze, lawn games, panning for gold, and a petting zoo.

The pumpkin patch is open Mondays and Wednesdays through Sundays throughout October and closed only on Tuesdays and Halloween.

 

6. Dia de Los Muertos   

The Mesa Arts Center is once again partnering with the local community to host a Dia de Los Muertos Festival. The annual festival features performances, an altar competition, and a variety of other activities to celebrate the Latin American culture and art related to the Day of the Dead. It’s a free event that takes place on the weekend of October 22nd to 23rd.

 

7. Mortimer Farms Pumpkin Fest and Corn Maze  

If you’re willing to travel a little further away from Phoenix, pack the kids in the car and head an hour and a half north to Dewey for the Mortimer Farms Pumpkin Fest and Corn Maze. Experience 80 acres of farm-inspired family-friend fun, with activities including a corn maze, pumpkin picking, rides, games, and more. Weekend festival features include hayrides, grain train rides, vendors, and live music.

The festival runs from September 26th to October 30th and is open seven days a week.

 

8. Willis Farms Festivities and Haunted Corn Maze  

Snowflake, three hours northeast of Phoenix, is home to Willis Farms, which hosts a wide range of fun fall festivities that kick off on September 24th. In addition to the quintessential pumpkin patch, the family farm features train rides, a game zone, and even laser tag. There’s also an Agrifact Corn Maze, Big Corn Maze, and the Haunted Corn Maze, the last of which has limited time slots. If you have younger kids, you can sign up for the Kid Haunt, which takes place for one night only on October 29th.
